What is a clean break?
This is an important issue which we often see overlooked by those attempting to deal with a divorce themselves. Formally dissolving the marriage and dealing with the procedural aspects of the divorce does not automatically end the financial links between you and your ex-spouse. It is possible in many situations for claims to be made against your finances years after the divorce if you have not also properly addressed the financial aspects of your separation so even when the divorce is straightforward a clean break agreement is recommended to prevent any unwanted future financial ties between you remaining.
At Betteridges we always work in your best interests and are happy to advise on the suitability of a clean break and how far you should go to achieve one.
“When I approached Betteridges about my divorce I had already booked a wedding date. I was worried that I would not be able to get the divorce through in time but Mark and his team got my divorce through in less than four months. I can’t thank them enough for this.”
